Option 2 - Download one large file using a download manager

Download Manager
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

Choose either Free Download Manager, or Free Download Manager Lite

              

Setting up the Download Manger on your computer

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location where you saved the files. Browse to and double click on the file Free_Download_Manager.exe. Click Run

  2.  Click Next to continue, and accept the agreement

  3.  Leave 'Enable FDM Comunity options' unchecked, click next

  4. Uncheck 'Enable Bittorrent protocol support now', click next

  5. Uncheck 'Yes, install Software Informer, click next until asked if you wish to have Free Download Manager start automatically at windows startup. Uncheck this option.

  6.  Click Next until you are advised that the setup has finished, then click Finish

Configuring the Download Manager

  1.  Go to Start, then programs, then Free Download Manager

  2.  Click on the Free Download Manager

  3. Choose your connection type (DSL, modem etc.)

  4. Go to Options. Uncheck Monitor Internet Explorer and Firefox

  1. Uncheck Use Site Manager to store my passwords

 

Using the Download Manager to download a file

  1.  Click on the blue button to add a download

In the box labeled URL enter:

If you normally connect using the VPN (aka Rail Europe dialer / TA_Euronet2):

 http://downloads.raileurope.com/setup8_0.exe

If you normally connect using Gatekeeper:

http://downloads.raileurope.com/setup_ext_8_0.exe

Make a note of the folder shown in the box labeled Save to folder. This is where your file will be downloaded

Ensure that the check box labeled Generate a file name automatically is UNCHECKED

  1. Click OK to start downloading the file
